Bromleigh House was formed in August 2004 and operates from offices in Newton Abbot in the West Country. Our early publishing history saw a variety of launches in the computer gaming, sport and juvenile fields, with title formats encompassing a complete range from poster mags up to high quality squareback guides for major sporting events like the Rugby World Cup and the European football cup.
A key element of the publishing ethos has always been timing, and the ability to spot new trends, launch quickly, (and sometimes exit at the right time), has been a cornerstone of the success to date. In this sense, the rapid emergence of sudoku as a serious phenomenon in Spring 2005 was a “natural” for Bromleigh House. Our first three titles, Sudoku Time, Sudoku Kids and the Big Sudoku Puzzle Magazine were launched in July 2005, followed rapidly by Sudoku Challenge and the more specialist Grand Masters and Sudoku Six. The current sudoku range was completed by Everyday Sudoku in July 2006.
Such has been the enduring success of sudoku that Bromleigh House currently devote virtually all their resources to the puzzle sector, and the magazines continue to thrive and grow, each occupying specific niches in the market. Precise targeting of individual titles is an essential ingredient in this successful performance and Bromleigh House are represented in every sub sector of the pure sudoku market.
The joint Managing Directors of Bromleigh House, Ian Porter and Jonathan Bolton, both have extensive experience of magazine publishing and have been in the business continually since the early ninties. Distribution is through Marketforce and the circulation side of the business is overseen by Richard Cowie who previously worked in variety of roles with IPC Media for over 30 years.
With a strong base firmly established in the UK, Bromleigh House are now looking to extend their overseas operations through export and local language editions in Europe and overseas. At the same time new opportunities constantly arise in the home market and there are a number of new titles in the pipeline. Details will be constantly updated on this website.
